R&D&I Specialist in Materials Characterization and Testing

Your mission

We are looking to incorporate a professional into our Materials Characterization and Testing area.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Planning and monitoring of laboratory operational activities.
  • Identification and selection of new equipment and/or accessories based on needs and feasibility.
  • Design of custom equipment and improvement of testing systems to ensure technical viability.
  • Provision of testing services and technical advisory to both external and internal clients, particularly within the transport and mobility sector.
  • Preparation and review of technical reports.
  • Ensuring the implementation of requirements and activities related to the quality management system, including participation in internal and external audits.
  • Monitoring and proposing tasks for the development and implementation of new testing methods.
  • Identification and proposal of equipment needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and occupational health and safety requirements, including identification of improvement actions.
  • Participation in R&D projects (proposal and execution), either as part of Research Groups or as Principal Investigator.
  • Visits to key clients related to the sector.
  • Participation in dissemination activities: technical workshops, conferences, articles in newsletters and sector publications, etc.
  • Participation in training activities related to the area of expertise.

Your profile

Required Education

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • High level of English and Spanish.

Additional Training (valued)

  • Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Organization, Industrial Automation and Computer Engineering, Defense and Security Studies, or similar.

Experience

  • Experience in internal and external audits.
  • Implementation of new testing methods.
  • Market analysis and business prospecting.
  • Experience in R&D project preparation and execution.
  • Participation in dissemination activities: technical workshops, conferences, etc.

Desired Experience

  • Experience in preparing R&D&I proposals for national and European public funding programs.
  • Availability to travel.
  • At least 2 years of experience in areas such as laboratories, quality control, equipment commissioning, analysis, and client interaction.
  • Skills in 3D modeling and experience with CAD/CAM/CAE software.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems.
  • Experience in product and industrial process digitalization.
  • Knowledge of dynamic testing (fatigue and vibrations) will be valued.
  • Knowledge of physical-mechanical, thermal, rheological, and identification testing.
  • Experience in preparing R&D&I proposals for national and European funding programs (valued).

Other Requirements

  • Valid driving license (B).
  • High level of English and Spanish.
